Oh to my SAN
As I sit here at midnight because we have had some SAN problems (not EMC SAN) I had some spare time while watching the bars on the screen while doing recoveries and this is what i cameup with.
As I sit by the keyboard oh so typing I wonder why lately the SAN has been frightening
Corrupted cache here , a failed controller there I wonder why we don’t have a replica here
Oh to decide eseutil or should it be a DPM restore just for the thrill
Maybe a bit of both to see which one wins. Oh how progress has been please forgive ours SANS sins
Watching the bars fly on the screen, as user keep emailing about what they have seen
But the storage has been reliable yet to date
but as we all know eventually we all have 1 fate
Now what could have saved this here SAN but a replica to another hard disk land
But how can this happen I wonder my friend
Could it be CCR or another tool to lend
Maybe one day the DAG will be here, then my users will have no fear
One copy, two copy, three copys more
my new friend DAG quote the raven “never more”

THAT is very funny. SAN’s replaced by DAGs.

So I dont really know how much I am allowed to say about DAG’s yet but the storage behind them could be anything SAN, DAS etc….
I wrote this one night after our isci SAN tanked on us and I was up late doing eseutils
